Rail Safety Videos

Two useful videos to educate our young people about the danger of the railway ahead of the summer holiday...

Due to increasing incidents of trespass on the railway in Luton, we have been asked to share the  FREE 15 minute safety videos with class teachers and you as parents so that you can watch them at home.  Remember the rail network is all around us including rail depots and sidings which are extremely dangerous places for young people to play on.

Over 21 million students, parents and teachers from across the UK have already watched these videos which has led to a significant decrease in the number of fatalities and injuries in their area through watching the rail safety videos.

‘The tragic death of Harrison in 2017, when he was in Year 7 at Guilsborough Academy, brought home to our community the importance of teaching our children about safety on the railways. Schools play a vital role in keeping our children safe.’
Simon Frazer, Principal at Guilsborough Academy.

There are two videos available which are aimed at KS1 and KS2 children.  The KS2 version is quite hard-hitting so we would recommend you check to see whether you feel your child is able to cope with the content before watching it with them.  For some children in Y3 or 4 in particular, the KS1 option may be more appropriate.

For both videos, you will need to register on the site for free to gain access.

Class teachers will be trying to find some time over the next week to watch the videos and discuss their content in class as well.
